Methodology

PeaceNexus provides advice, at the specific request of stakeholders, on a short, medium and long-term basis, depending on the complexity of the response.

 

Such requests, are not limited to, but might include:

  • Procuring an expert to meet a specific need for expertise (broker function)
  • Multidisciplinary conflict analysis and needs assessments either by adding knowledge to in-house expertise or by running independent assessments for requesting organizations
  • Assistance in developing a comprehensive and integrated strategy to respond to conflict connecting actors from North and South, facilitating inclusive consultation processes
  • Assistance in designing projects and identifying multi-track partnerships follow-up on conflict analysis, needs assessment and strategy building
  • Facilitating confidence-building between stakeholders on alternative peacebuilding tracks e.g. acting in complement to partners leading track I dialogues
  • Assessing programs and strategies upon request
  • Providing rapid advice in order to e.g. answer a specific question; PeaceNexus either responds with its in-house expertise or refers to a specialized partner organisation.

 

PeaceNexus pulls together networks of experts, drawn from respected and knowledgeable partner organizations, to fulfill the comprehensive needs of the requesting organization. The foundation primarily acts as a catalyst and provides a framework for engaging and guiding this expertise. It builds a bridge to promote the exchange and compilation of knowledge from qualified partner groups and individual experts, using the wide range of peacebuilding instruments and best practice.

Expert teams, drawn from these partner organizations, are mobilized and led by senior foundation staff. A systematic integration of lessons learned from past assignments provides for best practices in future assignments (within the strictures of confidentiality).

PeaceNexus provides funds for expertise coming from individual consultants or partner organizations, and invests in local grass-roots actors to build capacity and gain access to otherwise unavailable expertise. Most operational costs however, are covered by the requesting organization.

Any assistance coming from PeaceNexus is discreet, independent and impartial. We maintain full informational integrity and confidentiality.
