Reasons behind PeaceNexus

We created PeaceNexus to assist in developing ideas, to make relevant and interdisciplinary expertise available and to facilitate networking in the interfaces between core areas of peacebuilding. Thanks to our financial and political independence PeaceNexus will be able to operate beyond the rivalry of organisations. It will enable experts to work in teams who might never have conceived collaborating in the past due to the difference of their backgrounds, organisational mandates or a competitive relationship.

Also, we are striving for an organisation that could learn both from mistakes – a largely neglected opportunity in our field – and from successes. We systematically collect experience, draw lessons from these and build on best practice each time we get involved. If people want to make use of our best practice unit, we will welcome them. If we can provide you with information, make the link to expertise, or help you think things through, please ask. That is what we are here for.

PeaceNexus was encouraged and is supported by a great person whose name is Hansjörg Wyss. The Wyss Peace Foundation provides the funds we need to operate. Being one of the key managers in global business today, Hansjörg also gives us managerial advice. And, by making use of his enormous experience as a jet pilot and his proven instinct for success, he shares his unmistakable feeling for endeavours that can fly.
