Vision
The overall purpose of PeaceNexus is to improve the effectiveness of peacebuilding by connecting actors, tools and levels of peacebuilding. The foundation strives to evolve into a key nexus in peacebuilding.
Mission
To promote integrated solutions to peacebuilding challenges with emphasis on the interfaces between development, democracy and security, by providing multi-disciplinary expert teams to peacebuilding actors.
Objective
PeaceNexus intends to integrate stakeholders and relevant actors, who bring a broad range of tools to bear, across multiple fields, to assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive and durable solutions to conflict. The foundation will meet these objectives through multiple avenues:
- Acting as a catalyst and facilitator by mobilizing credible and experienced local, national and international peacebuilding actors, and bringing them together to develop inclusive and networked peacebuilding strategies;
- Becoming a nexus of credible resources and know-how for peacebuilding;
- Providing advice and oversight for assessments and new programs that require multiple inputs and actors to ensure coordinated strategies for policy and implementation;
- Becoming an international knowledge-base of best-practice in peacebuilding;
- Investing in local expertise.
Independence
PeaceNexus is a privately funded organization allowing it to work independently of external influence.
